Our family (2 adults, kids age 6 & 3) spent the afternoon at the Denver Nature/Science museum. Our kids loved the kids' room - with all the hands-on type items there. They also really enjoyed the space center - again because of the hands-on things to do. The dinosaurs, although not hands-on, were amazing! Our 6 yr old also enjoyed... more
My family attended the museum during a family reunion. I think there are great parts, but not a ton of hands on activities if you have younger children. It is very much a look and see place. I was very interested, but it seemed like the children in our family (most of them 5 and younger) seemed to have a... more
I went here with my Fiance, a little worried that we would be out of the age group for this attraction. However, we spent hours here and loved every minute! There are student discounts - we got one with our college IDs that saved us $6 each! Plus, we saw one of the planetarium films that was amazing. There was... more
-First or all, if you're gonna visit a Museum of Nature and Science, you must see an Imax movie or a planetarium movie or both. We usually do both since the planetarium runs late and can be watched after dinner. If you must pick one, the Imax is longer and about the same price as a 30 min. planetarium movie.... more
If your kids like dinosaurs . . . take them here! They have a great pre-historic exhibit with a large display of dinosaurs and various other pre-historic creatures. They also have a nice Native American exhibit, and when you're ready for a rest, a big glass walled atrium with a beautiful view facing the mountains. Some other exhibits included the... more
We took our young children to the Denver Museum of N&S. They LOVED IT! This was fascinating. They loved the dinosaurs and mummies and the gems and - well just about everything. The health exhibit was neat! I would reccommend this museum. Wear your good walking shoes. Take your time at the cafe - it is dissorganized and hard to... more
Only had time to visit the Gem/Mineral and the Prehistoric exhibits. My compliments to the creators and to those who obviously spent countless hours researching facts to incorporate into the specimen displays. They spared nothing. Being a rockhound and a history person, these exhibits and the quality of the specimens were mindblowing. Also liked the way the fossils and minerals... more
The most wonderfu museum I've visited. The displays are out of this world. more
I went and spent 4 hours at this museum. I took in "Cosmic Collisions" at the Planetarium. Be forewarned, the planetarium is not so much a classic, scientific place to study astronomy as much as it is a museum for digital space movies. I enjoyed the movie, but felt that calling it a "planetarium" was a stretch - dome notwithstanding.... more
