I had a season pass to vail, bc, brick , keystone and a-basin and where did i have the best powder days of the 2012 season? At Powderhorn! I loved this mountain. Top to bottom tree skiing and no one goes into the trees, so the pow lasts for a long time. And one week day I was there and... More

This ski area brings back what was wonderful about skiing before the resorts became corportate america resorts. The laid back lodge that you can watch skiers come down, the fantastic tree skiing make this place a off the beaten track special ski area. This is the way skiing used to be.

The new owners have given this resort an awesome new energy and vibrancy! We had stopped going for a few years but are back to enjoying the mountain!

Took my first ski lesson here and loved it. Very friendly staff and plenty of easy and accessible terrain. Of course, if you are looking for world class terrain, this is not the resort for you, as it is small.

well this place sucked. if you live in grand junction it's probably your best bet cuz it's a lot closer than anywhere else. the snow was crap. ive never boarded outside utah before and now i'll never leave it again. the snow was misleading, it looked like powder until you go over it and its just as hard as the... Powderhorn is a small ski area on the north side of the Grand Mesa. The snow is great and it's an hour from my home. While some areas get too fancy, Powderhorn has stayed focused on a good mountain with family friendly facilities. The hill is varied enough to keep most people entertained and has some outstanding tree skiing( stands... More

Powderhorn is off the beaten path, but that also means that it's not generally crowded. The slopes are well-groomed, the lodge is fairly new, and the Solomon rentals were in very good shape. I had to hit the road, so I only skiied a half day. But I got in more than a dozen runs; and, as I recall, my... More

I've been skiing "the Horn" every season for over a decade and I don't see stopping anytime soon. Living in Grand Junction, Powderhorn is a mere 45 minute drive from town making it great if you only have a half day available. After many years of skiing there here are some observations. Tickets: Ticket prices have risen considerably in the... More

Just finished the Daily Sentinel 3 day ski lessons for newbies. At the end you've got your season's lift pass. Can do three consecutive days or 3 weekends beginning in early January. Did January 2, 3 & 4 and was quite tired and sore at the end but found they took time to help individually as needed. In fact, I... More
