We were looking for something to do in the area before our flight back home. My daughter found it online and I said I don't want to go if the animals are in cages that will make me too sad. Off we went and WOW, quite the contrary! If you have any love or interest in animals, this is a... More

These guys are doing a great job and the animals are quite remarkable. We took a 20mo old boy, so it wasn't the best time for him because he wanted to get down and play with the animals. He didn't understand they were dangerous. If not for that, it would have been perfect. If you go, take a hat, sunscreen,... More

We visited after many circus lions were rescued from Bolivia, so saw them in their new habitat. Lucky critters to have found themselves here. It's amazing what dedication to this worthy cause can accomplish. Humans can see the animals without threatening them, a win for all. There's lots of information on rescues and care of the animals. Bring sunscreen--it's out... More

Most of the 'Mile into the Wild Walkway' has opened - the remainder of this phase of the project will open by mid May 2012. This allows you to view the bears, wolves and bobcats/lynx/foxes as never before. The value of the sanctuary experience is at least twice what it was before. They are doing a great job of constantly... More

My husband and I first learned about the Wild Animal Sanctuary through a TV program about Eddy. Since then we have been dying to visit and contribute to the sanctuary. Our family included 6 adults and 3 children under 11. We arrived at the Wild Animal Sanctuary and purchased our tickets. At this time you are given a booklet that... More

Another stop on our spring break trip. This one was a nice surprise. It is not a zoo b y any means. It is set up as a sanctuary with a new outlook on providing a more relaxed atmosphere for the large cats (and bears). The areas are large with the people walking well above. Close up views are at... The Wild Animal Sanctuary, located about 40 miles east of Denver off Interstate 76, is home to about 300 mostly-carnivores - including many lions, tigers panthers, and bears. The animals are viewed from an elevated walkway in a natural environment. This is not a zoo or circus, it is rescued animals being acclimated to a habitat in which they will... More

This is a great service. It is worth a visit, but I don't know that I'd go multiple times.
