Great family ski resort. This place gets lots of snow. I wanted a nice affordable place for father and son ski trip, and Monarch was it. No big crowds on weekdays, and even on Presidents Day weekend only 5 min wait at lifts. Nice selection of groomed trails beginners and advanced. Monarch is a nice area to ski. It gets the most snow in the state, after Wolf Creek Pass. It is farther away from Denver and Colorado Springs, and so it's not as crowded as some of the other ski areas.
