We discovered this quiet unassuming tour while doing research on Mes Verde. What a treasure! We had our three children with us, ages 16, 14, 9. The family and especially the teens weren't too thrilled with the idea of spending an entire day hiking remote trails in the hot sun, but afterwards they told me this was the top experience... More

Our guide, Rick Hays, gave us a first rate all-day tour experience. His stories along the way were informative and interesting. The afternoon part of the tour included hiking down timber ladders to the cliff dwellings. Well worth the time and effort to get that deep into the reservation. Our family highly recommends this trip.

The Ute Indian Tribal Park backs up to Mesa Verde National Park and tours are only possible with the use of a Ute approved guide. Group tours as well as private tours are available and private vehicles can be used. Since all of the roads in the park are unpaved and at times very rough and a full-day tour involves... More

Took tour with guides "Jacket" & Root". Saw pit houses - plenty of rock art - so many pieces of pottery (beautiful) - wild donkeys - evidence of the wild horses - 1st visitors center - NO snakes. Opted to go in Guides van instead of following with our car ( $10 extra) which was better because we got more... More

Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Park is one of the best experiences you can have in viewing the dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloans. The cliff dwellings are amazing. You visit the dwellings with an Ute guide, and usually there are only 4-8 people on the trip. You see pottery shards everywhere, and if you look closely, you can see finger prints... More

I mainly wanted to see the rock art which is just seen on the half day tour and after talking with the people on the phone decided to take the tour. The people at the Visitor center said to get there by 8:30 AM so I got there at 8:25 AM and so did some others. We waited until 9... More

My wife and i took the full day private tour to the cliff dwellings in the Ute Tribal Park on Nov. 12. This was an expensive ($220) but spectacular experience. We visited 5 sites with a Ute guide and spent most of the day exploring and hiking throughout the canyon and the ruins completely alone and undisturbed. There were no... More

This was a very relaxed and informative tour; very different from the hustle and bustle of Mesa Verde Park nearby. You will see kivas that have not been restored to museum quality, but in a natural state that remains comparatively undisturbed. The guide, a native Ute tribal member, will take you on an unhurried trip that will give you time... More

My husband & I visited the reservation July,03 with another couple & Rick Hayes took us on our tour. It was the best ever! Not only did he give us so much more information about the cliff dwellers but also more history on all the Indian tribes. We had visited Mesa Verde a few days earlier were so happy to... More
