This place is neat for all ages. They have hands-on activities like holding a tarantula named Rosie and petting a starfish and horseshoe crab. They also have a lot of insects to look at. The butterflies are beautiful and plentiful! My daughter released the butterflies she had grown in her little butterfly garden. There is also a play area with... more

I recently took my 1 year old daughter and my visiting parents to the Butterfly Pavilion for the afternoon. I had driven past it for 2 years now, always wondering what was inside. We were pleasantly surprised! The admission was roughly $8 pp. This gets you admission to the whole pavilion. They have an insect room where I was able... more

I've taken friends visiting me here a couple of times, always a fun way to spend an hour or two. I like it because you don't need a day to enjoy it. This is definitely something all kids would love - it's interactive and hands on. There is Rosie the Tarantula, which you can hold and let crawl on your... more

Just off US 36 between Denver and Boulder, the Butterfly Museum is an attraction that's great for kids and adults. We liked the wide variety of butterflies that flutter about, even landing on your shoulder. Also enjoyed the learning exhibits in other rooms that featured insects, critters, and tidepool denizens. The staff is attentive when needed and well-educated on their... more

This place is way overpriced for what you get to see. I have been to butterfly places in Costa Rica and in Houston, so maybe I'm biased, but it definitely didn't even come close to measuring up. We were also treated extremely rudely by an employee there. She made us feel like idiots. I would not recommend this place. more

If you've ever been to a REAL butterfly center, then don't waste your money on this one. However, if you've never been to anything of the sort, then this is probably worth the $8 a person to check it out. They advertise that you will spend 1 to 1.5 hours touring the center. We spent 45 minutes and that was... more

We went with our kids and they loved it. We were looking for things to do in the area, and this is a good choice. We kept busy for a couple hours checking out the rainforest room and climbing on the giant honeycomb. Our 4 year-old even held a tarantula. more

I'm glad we can say we've been there but I won't go again. It's quite small (& expensive). The creepy crawly bug exhibits really scared our 8 yr old! The hands-on tide pool area is so very small - if more than a couple of people are viewing it, there is no room for you. The butterfly area is why... more
