We just saw "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" at the Goodspeed. It was terrific. I think the casts voices were far better than those on the Nathan Lane version Broadway soundtrack. It's a lovely venue. more
Just visited the Goodspeed Opera House for the first time (Saturday, August 15th) and saw an incredible performance of "Camelot." Everything was perfect -- sets, costumes, music, dialogue. I couldn't have asked for a better evening. I've seen Camelot several times, but I cannot recall seeing a performance as beautiful as this one. Go quickly -- it closes soon. more
Even if it were not in use, the restored 1876 architectural jewel that is the Goodspeed Opera House would be worth a visit. But with NYC Equity talent mounting shows that regularly go on to a Broadway run or a national tour, the Goodspeed is a must stop for anyone with an interest in the American Musical Theater.
