With a nearly 4 year old rail nut, we decided on going on the train/riverboat combination with the Gillette Castle excursion addition. The 1910 steam train was great - we actually rode 3 different legs - north to the ferry drop for our trip to Gillette Castle, then south to the riverboat, and after that south again back to Essex.... more
