They have done a nice job of preserving history right on Route 10. Period artifacts are displayed throughout the home in an interesting way to keep you entertained. The guide is very friendly and informative. A nice way to spend an afternoon!
For more than 20 years I have driven or walked past the Barnes Museum but I'd never ventured inside until now. Actually I was at the property to enjoy the "Taste of Southington" annual event and the museum was open at no charge.
As was stated earlier, it might be of more significance if it had belonged to someone famous...
