This boardwalk has a long history. It is in renewal but two arcades, the Mardis Gras fun Center and Joyland are supposed to be sticking around as a new hotel is built behind them. We stayed near this pier and didn't see the sky lift operating at all during the entire week we were there (09/05/08-09/11/08). Perhaps we missed it, but probably not. It's not a real "boardwalk" - there are some planks but mostly concrete. There's a gift shop halfway down the pier and you have to pay $1.50 to get to walk... more

We visited Daytona Beach in June 2006. This was not a nice place to visit. We stayed in the Daytona Beach Shores area. The pier was rundown.
