I have a 7 and 9 yrs old kid and we have been to clearwater beach and sarasota beach ,miami beach and several other beaches in florida. In my opinion sarasota beach has the best beach as far as the sand and whiteness is concerned. what made our visit to fort clinch state park extraordinary is the appearance of a... more

We visited the fort with our 3 young children and it was enjoyed by all of us. The views of the ocean are amazing as is the fort itself. The fort is well kept with a great staff. Touring through the fort felt like you were stepping back in to time. The brick work and tunnels made you feel more... more

Wonderfully maintained historical site. A "union soldier" was on duty and showed us around, although he scared my 4 year old some. Very interesting and well maintained. Our kids, ages 4 and 6, were really quite interested in the whole thing. The drive through the park is also beautiful, to see the "real Florida" and the Amelia Island lighthouse. Well... more

While at the beach, visit Fort Clinch! We visited there recently and were delighted to find that Civil War reenactors were there. What luck....they made the fort come to life! They represented the Southern army....just in time before the Yankees came! It was much more interesting to hear their stories and converse with them. It is a well preserved bit... more
