We visited the fort with our 3 young children and it was enjoyed by all of us. The views of the ocean are amazing as is the fort itself. The fort is well kept with a great staff. Wonderfully maintained historical site. A "union soldier" was on duty and showed us around, although he scared my 4 year old some. Very interesting and well maintained. Our kids, ages 4 and 6, were really quite interested in the whole thing. The drive through the park is also beautiful, to see the "real Florida" and the Amelia Island lighthouse. Well... more

While at the beach, visit Fort Clinch! We visited there recently and were delighted to find that Civil War reenactors were there. What luck....they made the fort come to life!
