The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens are located on A-!-A, the coastal road along the beach. The Bonnet House is a member of the National Historic Trust and is a must see when visiting or living in Fort Lauderdale. The day we went there were very few other visitors, so our tour of the house included the two of us and two tour guides. It is a beautiful home with lovely artwork. The grounds are also beautiful with lots of iguanas and a swan family. I wanted to see the monkeys, but did not find any. more

If you like to visit historic homes, this plantation house is definitely a little out of the ordinary. Beautiful house and great explanations of the purpose and objects in the rooms. Very enjoyable visit. I even took some ideas for decorating my own house, since I love to paint. more
