Lots of small fish and manatees. Not very deep and boats break props if one is not very careful. Must troll slowly. Park is up at the springs on East end. Open water out to the Gulf on the West end. Few places to stop and visit bathrooms or restaurants.

Just went with my husband and daughter on a "River Safar's " airboat ride in Homosassa fl.....Great ride through saltwater marsh to the inner islands of the Gulf of Mexico. 1 1/2 hr trip was fun and educational. This place was so much fun and I wish we'd been there longer. The nature preserve place looked very fun and I'd like to go there next time.

The people are very friendly around here. The river itself feeds into the gulf, with lots of fishing, manatee sightings and the occasional dolphin

Family friendly, we love to take the grandkids and out of town visitors there. Up close with the manatees.
