We visited the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary several times while in the area. It is one of the largest wild bird rehabilitation centers in the United States. If you like seabirds this is a must, the work that is done at the seabird sanctuary is excellent. We stayed at the apartments next door so we visited several times during the week we stayed. more

This sea bird hospitall is unlike a zoo - rather you see the injured birds as they are rehabilitated. Some are released while some remain residents if their injuries prohibit release. It's a great cause & free but it makes you happy to give a donation to help with their work. more

I love visiting this place when I am out there, but even I have to admit that it really, really smells.
