The Sanctuary has limited parking but is within walking distance of several hotels/condos/resorts If your taking a walk along the beach there is a entrance off the beach. Mrs. Heath was still working there, when I frist met her as a child she let me feed a pelican and I never forgot so some 30 years later I went back... more

My wife and I visited the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in September. We really enjoyed our time there. There's no charge to visit but donations are accepted. Lots of rescued birds, it really makes you realize how many birds are injured every day. It's great to see a place like this that is dedicated to helping the birds. Worth your time,... more

This is a free Seabird Sanctuary on gulf boulevard. It is the largest wild bird hospital and sanctuary in the United States, based on the admission of up to 10,000 birds per year. They work on Donations alone and it was nice to see names for all the birds I saw on the beach. Well Worth the Visit if you... more

I worked in the bird hospital and I still think it is one of the best wildlife hospitals I have encountered. Your time and money if you decide to donate will not be wasted. The money that goes into the donation boxes are put to good use. The employees work their butts off especially the head of the hospital Barb... more

I'm not too much a bird person but you don't have to be to find this sanctuary interesting. Seeing all these wonderful creatures so close, especially the pelicans, was awesome. Definitely make some time in your vacation to visit here, I'm glad we did! more

Went here right before we had to leave. It's free to walk around but they have lots of places to provide donations. If your a bird lover, you'll love this place. They rescue injured birds, nurse them back to health and if possible, set them free. Lots of birds here, both in cages and roaming around. The whole trip probably... more

Hubby and I stopped here after hotel checkout and we are glad we did. It was amazing to walk around with birds above and beside you. We got some great pictures and it was a good learning experience. The place was well maintained. more

Loved this place! Although a little stinky and the fact that you need to watch out for birds that sit above in the trees this place was one of the highlights of our vacation. Hawks, owls and even a crow that talks when it's in the mood are just a few of the permanent bird residents here that are not... more

My wife and I were at the sanctuary on Nov 1st. It was our second visit there. Our first visit was 3 1/2 years ago. We liked it so much we had to come back. Not only is it a great place to see all kinds of birds, but the wild birds that just land a few feet from you... more

My husband and I visited the Seabird Sanctuary during our honeymoon vacation to Florida in August. Entry is free (however you are encouraged to make a donation) and there are a lot of really cool birds there. The sanctuary is not overly huge but a nice little attraction and cool place to see some local wildlife as well as some... more
