Started by a local "bird lady", this has become an established wild bird rehabilitation center. You go onto walkways leading past cages were various bird species are recuparating, interacting or just hanging out (there are daily feedings for anyone, so even free birds tend to hang around) . “Best place to see birds of the keys up close and personal”

Understated, but with knowledgeable folks and an amazing array of wild birds. Best early morning but you can see hundreds of birds any time of day. Spectacular setting and great work being done there! Don't expect fancy but DO expect to see birds! Donations ($5.00 per person suggested) are their only source of funding. So worth it!

I've been to the Wild Bird Center a couple of times. I love places like this and always visit these centers when I find them. You can see all types of sea birds as well as hawks, owls, and more. The wild birds who are not in the cages at the center hang out there too. It's neat to see... More
