My husband and I went to the wreckers museum and weren't very impressed. The museum is basically two small rooms with artifacts in them. There is a guy dressed up like a historical wrecker who talks in the first room for about 10-15 minutes. After that, you walk around the other rooms by yourself looking at artifacts, and they have... more

Ok so as museums go its small and very dark. But I love how you really got a perspective for what life was like before this little island became a tourist destination. I had no idea that the wrecking industry even existed before this trip. They work hard to make you believe you are in the hayday of the wrecking... more

We bought an Old Town Trolley Tour package that included this museum. I did not know anything about the life of a wrecker so learned a lot about the ships that went aground on the Keys and the fortunes that were made from Salvage. The best part was climbing up the watchtower at the end for a bird's eye view... more
