This small, immaculate State Park has many faces. There is the largest segment oceanside which has camping, day use area and a lovely "Keys style" beach. On the bayside, there is a hiking trail. This is a good point to access the Overseas Heritage Trail bike and pedestrian pathway from. The informational signs are a great way to learn about... More

great little park for renting a kayak, fishing or just bbqing. They have this great trail on water for kayaking you go under the mangrove bridge and feel like in a fairytale. Also dozens of iguanas around the water on the trees , some really huge and not too shy...pet friendly park, 6 bucks for two people for whole day.

Small park with picnic tables in grassy area along the shore. They have kayaks for rent and you can paddle into the inlet or off shore - looked like fun but we didn't try it out. The water had lots of seaweed along the shore and didn't look as inviting as it could have. I'd go down to Bahia Honda... More

Weather prevented us from renting a kayak but they were very inexpensive. Maybe another day...

Kids loved being able to wade out into the ocean to find marine animals. The kayak trip through the mangroves was really fun. Beach was not crowded at all and well maintained.

We rented 2 double kayaks with our teen daughters and had a great morning paddle through the mangrove. Gorgeous scenery and birds. Bring bugspray for the tunnel area - it's fun, but the mosqitoes were fierce in there with no breeze. We did the loop in 40 minutes, but you can go much slower or go twice easily.

A great paddle trail thru the mangroves. Make sure you know the tides as you can't get thru the mangrove paddle trail in low tide. We brought our fishing rods and caught baracuda in the southern Cove in front of deer key (go. Counter clockwise from the kayak rack and this cove is on the other side of the mangrove... More

We tried parasailing, snuba, etc..but nothing compared to the (inexpensive) kayaking around this park! The mangrove tunnel took us by surprise--we kept thinking it would end--but it never did--we loved it so much we went back again and again--our kids even wanted to cancel our other activities to come back the next day! We ended by swimming (relatively deep waters... More

Original plan was Bahia Honda but the admission line was out onto the highway, so we tried this instead. It was a private paradise. Clean beach with bathrooms; water had a lot of kelp but easy to walk on- you could go far out & be knee deep. Popular place for wind boarding, which was cool to watch.
