Having fond memories of the zoo from my childhood growing up in South Florida, I was excited to take my 2-year-old daughter there. Unfortunately, the zoo has not changed with the times and is just a big dustbowl with not much to do. I found the exhibits uninspired and uninteresting, and there is very little shade from the hot Florida... more

We made our first trip to the zoo a few days ago and really enjoyed it. It's a good size, nice looking exhibits and facilities, and the animals looked like they were in good health. Admission ($14 + tax/person) was a good value. Since it was our first visit, we added the tram ride ($5 extra/person) and got to ride... more

the Miami Metrozoo was a joke and a waste of time. There were not that many animals and the upkeep of the entire zoo was poor. My first clue should have been that the parking lot was empty an hour after they opened. I guess I'm just spoiled to a wonderful FREE zoo in St. Louis. more

We were able to spend about 3hrs here on a Sunday morning. We got there right when it opened, so there was plenty of free parking and right near the gate. In hindsight we could have brought our own lunch in, but we didnt know we could. We did NOT spend the money for the monorail, and appreciated the excercise.... more

This is the best zoo that I have ever visited. Excellent place to visit. The park is arranged well and the animal attractions are well planned and displayed. We rented a bicycle cart to take our first pass through the zoo. You can get a two or four seat bike. It was well worth the cost ($15 for two hours)... more

We heard a lot about Florida "bigs' (Disney, Universal...) but the best deal is the Miami Zoo. Nice people, wonderful animals in a very natural landscape. Try the safari cycles: a must. And thanks to tripadvisor members:otherwise we could never discover it. more
