This is definitely one of those out-of-the-way attractions. It was nice for a few photos, but the Mangrove boardwalk was infested with Banana Spiders. I know they're harmless, but my husband couldn't handle it. I'm not sure if it's worth the $10 a person compared to other things you could be doing in Miami. It was nothing spectacular. more

We showed up just in time (3pm) for a tour of the two homes. Tours are given 2 times daily. The tour was interesting to me and my husband, the kids were kind of bored. I recommend this for grown ups but not for the kids. The estate is beautiful although we didnt really have time to walk around. The... more

We visited the Deering Estate in February 2009 on a whim, and we were not disappointed. Tucked away from major roads, the Deering Estate is an oasis of calm which helps to transport the casual visitor back to 1922, when Charles Deering and his family and guests enjoyed this stunning property on Biscayne Bay. I took a very nice guided walk on the boardwalk though the mangrove hammock. The grounds are beautiful, however there is not much to see in the house.
