Visited in February, 2011, and again in February, 2012. The Gehry structure is outstanding as a concert hall, very accessible, the acoustics very good, and the orchestra is phenomenal. Gil Shaham playing the Prokofiev Violin Concerto was utterly memorable. Now the bad news; some seats (and not merely the cheaper ones) have partially or even completely obstructed views, and this... Thank you very much for your generous praise about Frank Gehry's magnificent New World Center building and Michael Tilson Thomas' equally magnificent music - your return visit indicates that you liked what you saw and heard both times. Yes, there are a few partially obstructed view seats in Gallery 5, a small triangular-shaped seating gallery on the north side of... More

Fabulous. It has redefined the music experience in America -- and ultimately the world. Take a tour of the building -- great history and concept.

The program that the Arison family started has blosomed with the expert direction of Michael Tilson-Thomas. The new hall is a world class venue worth seeing, even if there is no concert going on.

The reviewer has really hit the proverbial nail on the head! The New World Smphony (NWS), America's Orchestral Academy, really IS special, both as a Miami Beach cultural institution and a world-class architectural destination. And that's at the heart of why NWS is now listed as Number 5 of 60 Attractions in Miami Beach and the Number 1 Miami Beach... More

In Frank Gehry's handsome building, a glorious New World Symphony performance of Mahler's 9th last weekend, Tilson Thomas conducting. The concerts were sold out, but on Sat. night about 1800 people saw and heard the symphony for free by sitting on the lawn outside and watching the 7,000 sq. ft. projection wall. NWS presentations are varied and always superb, and... More

Spectacular design and refined interiors matches the beauty of the outdoor park where to enjoy music and projections sitting in the cool breez of the ocean.

The Frank Gehry-designed soaring spaces are truly spectacular and a worthy complement to the New World Symphony's spectacular music, as your review attests. Thanks so much for putting your thoughts in writing. FYI: Docent-led tours of the New World Symphony building will be held on Tuesdays during the month of June at 4 p.m. Check the nws.edu web site for... More

This Frank Gehry-designed building opened a little over a year ago, and the reviews are spot-on: As an indoor performance space, it's a sight to behold -- and to hear, when the resident academy symphony is playing. The fare ranges from classical to very out-there modern. One recent performance included a poetry reading. But perhaps the most novel aspect is... More

Awsome architecture! The place is beautiful! Once a week there`s a movie presentation in the huge wall outside. Lots of people go there with blankets, wine and snacks to watch the free movie session on the grass. Some specific orchestra presentations also are shown as a "wall cast" outside. Very good!

It is just thrilling that new music has such a glorious setting at the new campus. I was there last night and attended an outstanding program of FOUR world premieres, poetry and film. The works were all spellbinding. For music lovers and total neophytes alike. The wallcasts are brilliant and the park is beautiful. The view of all of south... More
