Juniper Springs is a favorite picnic spot, although there are campsites available for longer stays. The Mill House has a display about the area, and a giant water wheel! The springs are a refreshing 72 degrees year round, and the swimming area is near the picnic grounds, with benches around the edges also. There is a nice changing area/restroom, and... more

In late August I hiked through the Juniper Prairie wilderness. I parked my car overnight at Silver Glen Springs for $10, then walked west on the new Yearling Trail until it met up with the Florida Trail, then hiked south on the Florida Trail all the way to Juniper Springs.
