Wonderful park near Siesta Key (7 miles); top beach in florida as well as U.S. Campground offers canoeing/kayaking, hiking, fishing, and nature center. Nice canaopy of trees shades most if not all campsites. Great for viewing diverse species of birds. Overall a great park with a multitude of activities for everyone.

Never dissappointed in parks of any sort. This one has great staff, great facilities and my son even did his boy scout eagle project there. Check it out.

Just what you would expect of a state park. Very pretty, wild, buggy, and quiet.

Hell. This place is a living hell. It is so desolate, miserable and bug ridden - burning it to the ground would be an improvement. We didn't even see bird there - they don't even want to visit. Avoid this park at all costs.

I've taken Japaneese exchange students and they were made to volunteer for a discounted place to camp. Great experience!

This park is a little odd but it is probably best for kids and parents who want to keep them busy for a while. We took a walk around one of the trails and it was just so-so. Maybe it's the sand and the silence that makes it a little too bland.

This state park is attractive for birders because the Florida scrub jay makes its home there. The bird is very friendly and often will land on visitors' heads! There is camping, a beach (watch out for alligators, as the sign indicates), rest rooms with showers and a visitors center with free wi fi. We visited there recently for the Sarasota... More
