The state has built an interpretive center which is now staffed. They are still working on exhibits. The local re-enactor garrison is planning on building a 'chosa' which is a thatched structure which will serve as a shelter for future living historians performing interpretive duties. the historical significance is huge as it is the first Free Black Settlement in the... more

When I first visited the Mose site a couple of years ago, finding it was a task. And once I arrived, there was just a path in the woods leading to a swamp. The woods and swamp are still there, but now there's also a boardwalk and a small shelter, complete with grills, for picnicking. A historical marker explains some... more
