Great way to spend an hour or two. Beautiful lighthouse with awesome views from the top. Nice historical information on display, too!

Actually the St. George Lighthouse was rebuilt by volunteers after it fell into the Gulf of Mexico. Relocating it to the main entrance at St. George Island visitors can now climb the steps to the top and also visit the museum in the innkeeper cabin. We really enjoyed the video at the museum sharing the fall of the lighthouse and... More

Love the lighthouse restored in the center of St. George Island and the replica of the keeper's house. Quite a view from the top!

St. George Island is justifiably proud of its history and the role its lighthouse has played in its history. The relatively new lighthouse museum is free and well worth a visit, and after learning about the lighthouse you'll want to pay the nominal fee to climb to the top.

After a disappointing visit to the lighthouse at Cape San Blas, I told my son we would find another. I found this one. It had a really neat little park around it. There were pic nic tables and grills for cooking, a nice restroom facility and a playground for the kids. We paid our fee and heard a little about... More

My children loved the playground - this is where we burned off some energy after Aunt Ebbys Ice Cream and before biking back to the Plantation. Certainly recommend seeing this park.

We had fun climbing the lighthouse and talking with the woman in the gift shop. The view from the top was terrific, and the climb (92 or 96 or 98 steps) really wasn't bad at all

Visited the lighthouse while staying on St. George Island for a few days. Interesting small museum in a small house (replica of the old 'keeper house') nearby tells the lighthouse's fascinating history. It was built in 1852, leaned, sank, knocked around by hurricanes, restored, shored up, fell down into the water, then lovingly the pieces were gathered up and rebuilt... More
