This is a traditional art meseum which always has nice interestign exhibits. My favorite is their permanent collection of Steuben glass pieces which nto every museum shows. The setting of the museum is wonderful on the waterfront in downtown. more
While I was hesitant to visit this museum after reading a previous review, I noted the discrepancies within said review, put aside the negative comment regarding the museum's attitude toward children and younger adults and went with my own three chilren (ages 5, 8 and 11). This museum has an excellent collection of paintings from the U.S. (and some from outside) They do not deal well with any youth. I have taken my class on a field trip and taken a Church youth group there. Both were disasters for the kids. This museum does not welcome anyone without grey hair.
