Beautifully kept, quiet, uncrowded nature trails. Bring lots of bug spray, these trails follow the Sanibel River. We saw some interesting foliage, visited the butterfly house, and learned a lot of fascinating information about the things we were finding on the beach every day. Ask the volunteers to recommend other day trips and restaurants while you are there. We forgot... more

Probably not for those on a quick trip to Sanibel - but if you are on the island for more than a few days and really want to know about its ecosystem - you should definitely stop by the SCCF. The experience here can be inconsistent as it will depend on the knowledge and friendliness of the volunteers on staff... more

not much here and the staff is not very welcoming to tourists. We had a much better experience at Ding Darling wildlife refuge. more
