They were not only helpful but, inviting as well. Lots of good advice and resources for our stay. We arrived right at 5pm (when they closed) but were not hurried in the least. In fact, they pulled out coloring books for our daughters. If you've never been to sanibel/captiva before, this should be your first stop. more
A "must stop" at the beginning of your trip. The nicest and most helpful people staff the center. Great representatives for Sanibel. Info available about everything to do! more
First time visitor. Got there through vacation exchange. We stay at Shell Island Resort of Hilton Vacation Club. Great experience. We were lucky to have wonderful weather...no hurricane although it was the 3rd anniversary of "Charlie" devastation on the island on 2004. Took a cruise tour to Useppa Island, very interesting the little tiny museum, don't miss it. Great location... more
We have visited Sanibel the last 3 years and intend on doing so annually for as long as possible. The Chamber of Commerce is the greatest source of info available online, in person and by post. I have requested a package every year for updates on dining, accomadations, etc. and always receive more than expected to plan great stay. Visit... more
You will find brochures in abundance AND very friendly and helpful staff. Yes, it is very commercial, but that is what you want when you first arrive. If you don't know where you are eating out, buy the $3 guide which has menus from most of the restaurants on the island. Ask all your questions about bicycles, wildlife refuge info,... more
