Took a bunch of scouts to the park and camped for 2 night. We camped in the primitive camp area. The sites were huge and we were about a mile from the busier areas of the park. Ranger helpful at check in. Can purchase firewood. Very quiet our 1st night(weeknight) and then Friday and Saturday nights were a little more lively. Everyone heeded the 11pm quiet time. It is the park to visit to see FLORIDA WETLANDS WILDLIFE. We walked 3 of the half mile wood plank trails, and will be back to walk the rest. GET SOME "ORANGE ICE CREAM" from the Park Restaurabt / BLANCOBILL HERE ! more
Over 5 walking trails ranging from 15 to 30+ minutes. This was our 2nd visit and each time we see different wildlife. This time a wild pig. You will alway see an alligator or two. On Friday evenings during the fall/winter/spring season they have a Friday night Fish Fry (all you can eat). Very good fish and done very well.... more
I love this park! We visit family in Sebring every year, and always make a point to visit "The Real Florida"! The trails are relatively short, and kid-friendly. (Wooden walkways help keep us out of the wet areas.) We've seen alligators, snakes, armadillos, deer, wild pigs, plus many exotic (to us anyway!) birds and lizards, on different occasions.
