We thought this property was beautiful and would come back during their peak season (Jan-April) which would really provide a great look at the place in full bloom.
Maclay Gardens is one one of my almost lifelong favorite places to visit in town. As a child, I enjoyed the gardens, but more frequently went to the park's adjacent Lake Hall to swim. It's been a long time since I visited that part, so I cannot review it well now, but it looked nice the last time I looked... More
Maclay Gardens has a lovely walk up to the historic Maclay house which one can tour. There are also little paths to the lake, the reflecting pool and small garden. During winter the camelias are in full bloom and beautiful. This is a peaceful, quiet retreat from the busy city. Also if you come through back of the gardens for... More
Maclay Gardens offers a unique place to take a long walk in nature, away from the day-to-day hubbub of the college town.
.. We visited Maclay Gardens just before Halloween and enjoyed a lesiurely stroll through the garden paths down to the lake. Along the main path were various 'Halloween vignettes' con-tributed by many Tallahassee businesses and entities. They were very creative and well done and we got some early Halloween laughs along the way. One can picnic , rent canoes and... More
Great place to spend a peaceful walk. The reflecting pool is beautiful. There a place where you can sit overlooking the lake. Any nature lover will love it.
Take the beautiful walk along the lake to the Maclay house and start viewing fabulous gardens! Keep following paths to find a walled garden, secret garden, reflecting pool, and lovely native tree displays. Even though October is off-season there was plenty in bloom to show off the beauty of the grounds. A special treat this time of year was the... More
Great place to ride your mountain bikes, the trails are varied and challenging. We went on a Monday and we seemed to almost had it to ourselves. Highly recommend!
This place was absolutely beautiful & peaceful !♥ it ....had alot of paths ,huge trees, the brick path and reflection pond was amazing.
My mom and I had the whole place to ourself at the gardens/house site. it was calm, cool, relaxing strolling through the giant trees. I especially liked the house, secret garden and the reflecting pond. They have a gazebo by the lake where were sat for some time enjoying the breeze. A beautiful site right in the middle of Tallahassee!
