Lowry Park Zoo is in Tampa which is about an hours drive from Orlando but worth the journeyt! The exhibits are attractively laid out with leafy, shady boardwalks around the enclosures and a welcome set of play fountains at the entrance to cool off in! The animals have spacious and well designed enclosures. As Brits we particularly enjoyed the North... more

Loved the zoo! It was probably one of my favorites in the South . The weather in Fla. is super hot in the summer. If you can avoid comming in the summer you should. We went there while my husband was at a conference so we just had to go when we did. The only thing I would complain about... more

Lowry Park is a moderately large zoo with nice exhibits, kids area with water (cool off in summer!), and a McD's and more for lunch. Or, bring a picnic and eat in the surrounding lovely park. Across from the zoo is the river side with shade, creeks, springs (not for swimming), and boardwalk. At least a good half day! more

What a great surprise to find my three young grandchildren to be so caught up in this educational experience. All animal enclosures have a picture of the animal and pertinent information. We took time to read all the interesting facts. The children and I discussed the animals, where they were from, what they ate and were they friendly. The zoo... more

We love going to the Lowry Park Zoo. It is very clean, well maintained and a wonderful value for your money. The children's area can keep children entertained for hours especially if you purchase the ride band. All of the areas are easily accessible by stroller. I would definately recommend this zoo! more

I've lived in Tampa over 3 years and finally got a chance to visit Lowry Park Zoo this past summer. They have a free day once a month I think and it gets pretty crowded. But it was still a nice zoo to visit and not too costly. The location is not all that convenient though. Unfortunately I didn't get... more

We were led to believe, based on "Child's Magazine" rating, that this zoo was rated as the #1 Family Friendly Zoo in America. How misleading!! To begin with, we traveled all the way from Indiana to study the manatees. To our dismay, the excitement didn't last beyond the sign by the street. We were greeted by a sign stating that... more

We took our grandson to the Lowery Park Zoo the first week in October. This a great zoo-very clean and the animals look well cared for. We especially loved the monkeys-watching them jump and swing was great. We liked the skyride-a great view of the whole park. It was very hot the day we were there-it would be more pleasant... more

We went to Tampa this past weekend to visit family and decided to take the kids to Zoo Boo at Lowry Park Zoo. We took my 7 yr old, 12 yr old, and my neice and nephew who are about the same age. They loved it. They have several haunted houses that are rated by skulls. One skull being the... more

This was a really great zoo for my kids, ages 6 and 11. There were lots of shaded waiting areas and the attractions were excellent. You could feed/touch lots of stingrays, giraffes, lorikeets and rhinos. Kids love animals and this close-up, hands-on approach is super fun for them. The white tiger cubs were out frolicking when we got there and... more
