I was so looking forward to visiting The Big Cat Rescue and going on a photo tour. I'm a professional amateur photographer and love taking photos of wildlife. Well, I was a bit disappointed in the photo portion. I was under the impression, from information on the website, that one would be able to get photos without barriers. I was... more

You are driving down Gunn Highway with shopping and resturants and turn down a gravel road into forest. You leave the big city and are now in the country. At the end of the road is Big Cat Rescue. We are met at the gate by a member of the staff who shows us where to park. The feeling of... more

This place is definitely worth the visit if you are an animal/cat lover! It is for a good cause and you get to see these beautiful animals pretty darn close as opposed to the regular zoo. Just remember to bring bug spray because I forgot that there were so many mosquitos in Tampa since I live in the desert. I... more

I went on a Photo tour the lst time I visited Big Cat Rescue. It was wonderful. My guide was a great helper and I got some wonderful pictures, some with no fences showing in front of the animals and some with none at all. The second time I did the tour getting to feed the animals and make things... more

For Spring Break in March 2008, we went to Tampa, FL. to fulfill my 11 year old daughter's dream to visit Big Cat Rescue. It far exceeded my expectations. The staff is so dedicated to the cats and they seem content and comfortable in their cat-i-tats, unlike zoos where they seem depressed and bored. This place is a must for... more

My family and I had a nice time taking this tour. It was very informative and was nice to see so many different breeds of cats. The staff was helpful and we enjoyed ourselves. The road is right next to a convenience store/McDonalds and is difficult to find, but don't give up it's worth the trip. more

It is so nice to see a happy ending for these animals. I found the tour extremely informative. We did the feeding... more

We have visited Big Cat Rescue on several occasions and have always had a wonderful time. To see these cats who have been rescued from such awful circumstances enjoying the sunshine in such a natural habitat is just amazing. The dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers is incredible and they are to be commended. If you are an... more

This place is a top notch facility. All of the cats here have great lives and they deserve it!! Unfortunately, (or at least the way it appeared during the tour) this sanctuary has taken to spreading propaganda for "animal rights" -which they will more or less shove down your throat about how most zoos (private mostly, but accusatory of some... more
