It was nice to walk around and see the different sponges. Not something I'll probably ever do again though.

The appeal here is the lovely Greek people and the uniqueness of Tarpon Springs and its sponge industry to the US. You will find some good food, but most of the shops appeal mainly to tourists. If it's a nice day, though, you can enjoy a 2-3 hour visit at the docks.

Hidden in the sponge docks is the Sponge Exchange. Shops on the main street ar typical tourist places, but the Sponge Exchange has some very high class shops.

nothing special but ok. a lot of people.. didn't appreciate the smell

Open air style gift and trinket shopping -- something different to enjoy and I can always find something special to give as gifts for those who are difficult to buy for.

Everything overpriced and sales people are pushy. I think the sponges are imported from other countries.

I always enjoy walking through Tarpon Springs and the sponge docks. There are several local shops and places to eat.

This place was what you'd expect from a tourist trap. Interesting.
