I remember the TV ads in the 1960's when I lived in Chicago. "Come to Weeki Wachee!" I have lived 2 hours away for more than 10 years and finally went (with friends from out of state, of course). This is a great place. We caught the 11:00 Mermaid show. Went on the noon river cruise and had a burger... More

Dissappointing. Only good tings going for the park is the fresh water swimming area and the mermaid show. VERY LIMITED PARKING. On the date of out visit there was only one tour boat running which would only cary 25 guest at a time. With a tour lenght of approximatley 25 minutes and long lines, it would make for a long... The two older grandchildren are Disney officianados and I wondered if they would be bored. THEY WERE NOT! And thanked us over and... More

Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is giving a big facelift to the park area. They are maintaining all the natural beauty of the park. The river continues to be clear and fun to take a canoe or take the kids to Buccaneer Bay.

I have been dreaming of going to Weeki Wachee ever since I read a book called Swim to Me. Since I was planning a Florida road trip, I made sure to schedule a day to visit. So glad I did. Weeki Wachee is now owned by Florida State Parks, but they've kept it going and the main attraction here is... More
