I love this place! The snorkeling on the south side of the island is some of the best i have seen since moving to florida 8 years ago....even better fish sightings that i have seen on scuba trips out in the ocean. All in around 4.5/5ft of water on average- You can't beat that. With the recent ban of alcohol...

nice little park for swimming, snorkeling and hiking. bring a picnic lunch and drinks, the ferry ride over is fun, the bunker was really interesting -- great afternoon

Great local getaway with the island feel - lots of marine life to see - nice beach, nice path to walk; always enjoyable.
This was our second trip to Peanut Island. The first trip at low tide was poor. At high tide or withing about 2 hours of high tide the visibility is great, with amazingly tropical blue water and great diversity of fish available in shallow water close to shore. Safe for kids and not much current.
North side feels like A1A on spring break. West Side is family
