I love this place! The snorkeling on the south side of the island is some of the best i have seen since moving to florida 8 years ago....even better fish sightings that i have seen on scuba trips out in the ocean. All in around 4.5/5ft of water on average- You can't beat that. With the recent ban of alcohol... More

This is one of my favorite places. I get there with a short paddle on my kayak, but the water taxi is an option too. There is free camping on the beach, space available. I love camping right on the beach. There is also a "concrete" camping area that is set off with tent pads, shower houses, and grills. This... More

There are lots of places to snorkel and it's a fun place to visit with kids. There are some areas on the weekends that get a little nuts with boaters who are drinking too much so stick to the east side if you have kids.

I wish we would have gone last year! We went on the day of the 24 hour race for prostate cancer, quite a view. The island is truly serene and beautiful. Perfect for snorkeling, quiet enough for a couples getaway with beautiful pathways. It is meticulously upkept. We will be visiting again next year. It was also cost friendly, I... More

This was our second trip to Peanut Island. The first trip at low tide was poor. At high tide or withing about 2 hours of high tide the visibility is great, with amazingly tropical blue water and great diversity of fish available in shallow water close to shore. Safe for kids and not much current.
