Best time to go to the Grotto is during the week then you will get to really enjoy the beauty of the dive... Be ready with a sense of humor as Ed has one and 'cleared' the Grotto for us on Saturday... Thanks for a great time, again! Look forward to many more trips...

The Blue Grotto is a cavern/cave site. There are training platforms where you usually find several Open Water classes going on, there is a large cavern/basin area, and a short cave tube/chute with a guideline. It's a good experience for those wanting to try a cave experience (with an experienced instructor along as guide) without paying a lot of money.... More

As a nervous new diver, this was a great place to do my first day of check-out dives (second day was at Devil's Den). Since it was December, it wasn't very crowded at all. I couldn't go into the cavern as a new diver, but plenty of people were going down there. Not much to see at Blue Grotto, but... More

Besides the dive resembling a cave dive it is unexciting. In addition, the three mil that was advised was false. Water temp was 68 and I began to chill. Very closed in and for divers that love the open waters this is just an get wet oppurtunity. If you can avoid this dive do so it would have been better... More

My husband and I had just a dozen open water dives when we planned several days of diving near our home in Orlando. We almost didn't go to Blue Grotto because "seasoned" divers shrugged when we said we were going and said it wasn't much fun AND the $40 cost per diver seemed a bit steep. Despite those hesitations, we... More

Blue Grotto is a guaranteed site to see in North Florida spring country.as with boat and ocean dives the weather can cancel your dives making training impossible as with a spring not on the river system like Blue Grotto weather makes this site accessible year round and winter and early spring months a very quiet time as the locals tend... Simply put... this is a fun dive. We went in February of 2010. It was 48 degrees outside when we woke up that morning in Gainesville, FL. I think it was in the low 50's by the time we were at Blue Grotto, all checked in, and ready to dive. Going at this time of year enabled us to have... More
