I would definitely recommend Vogel State Park to anyone. The lake is beautiful and the trails are awesome. We backpacked the Coose Backcountry trail in September. I would recommend going during spring or fall so you can see more of the views. Otherwise, the campsites were great, the trails were well-marked, and the people were friendly. more

We stayed right on Wolf creek in site #59, and had a great time. The sound of the water put us to sleep at night. The lake was great, my 4 yr old son caught a couple of rainbow trout, and both of our boys had a great time swimming. The views were amazing, the staff were nice, and the... more

I’ve been to a bunch of state parks in the Southern US. Vogel State Park is by far one of the most beautiful (but then, I have an affinity for -Appalachian- mountains surrounding a lake with a waterfall close by). The best way to describe VSP is to imagine all those summer camp movies. Cabins right on the lake, literally.... more

Its a small park but I have an interest to go back to tent camp. I got see see the campground this past week 9-18-06. We spent a few hours there so kids could use scooters while I tried to fish. This was our 2nd time to come in 2 months....one may want to check out their cabins which I... more
