Dont buy your tickets online unless you want the luck of the draw for you train car. If you have no preference regarding the train car that you will be traveling in then this is the way to go otherwise don't do it. We purchased our tickets online for the memorial day weekend. There was no option to choose the... More

Very slow train, if you were in an open car, the smell was bad, Take an air conditioned car. Nothing to really see. I think this is the train out of McCaysville over to Blue Ridge.

Eat lunch before browsing the shops so that you can get back on board at the right time. The local drug store was the best shop to browse through.

I thought a 2 hour layover in McCaysville would be too much but by the time I had lunch, visited the bakery and looked at about 1 shop, it was time to go back to the train. There were many more shops I might have liked to see. The trip is very pleasant, peaceful and scenic with a few interesting... More

Nice train ride to McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, Tn. The border of Ga and Tn goes diagonally thru this small town. Wish we would have had more time to shop, after having lunch we only had an hour to look around. It was so nice to see all the store owners in downtown Blue Ridge come out and wave goodbye to the... Those working for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway are fun, knowledgable about the area. It is a relaxing trip with a two hour layover in McCaysville for eating lunch and shopping.

The fall scenery was peak, but the morning was cold. Wish we had chosen the closed cars and not the open cars.

The railroad runs along the river and there are plenty of spots for some great pictures. You can see canoes, rafting, tubing and swimmers, all having a great time. You will end up in the two towns of McCaysville and Cooper Hill. One in Tennessee one in Georgia with a line down the middle of the road to mark the... More
