Beautiful area, nice drive down from Atlanta and decent campground area. But it's painfully obvious that the lack of state funding has hurt this and all the other state parks which must now fend for themselves (pretty much). Some facilities are in good shape, others, not so much. The beautiful old stone B&B that serves as the main office in... More

I had always wanted to visit the area that inspired FDR to create his New Deal policies, and I finally made it. The drive along the top of Pine Mountain through the park, with its many view turnouts, and the cabins available for rent, as well as the hiking trails, made this a splendid place to visit. Adding in the... More

We loved our stay at FDR state park and highly recommend it. We went in April so, we could visit the nearby Callaway Gardens. We camped in our tent on a very quiet camp site. There was plenty of shade and facilities were very clean. There are lake front sites available but, we chose to stay on a site closer... More

large campsites, large camper/shower ratio, they deliver firewood. Camp store has ice. All relatively reasonable. Get your fishing license before you go. Nice little lake at campsites.

We spent an afternoon horseback riding and hiking in this park. The parking fee is $5 for the day, and we parked in a camping area close to a hiking trail. The trail we chose was about 2 miles each way and was well marked and clean. It was a serene, beautiful forest hike, begining and ending at a creek... More

Took a pair of short hikes on our way from Warm Springs to Callaway. Nice views from the peaks. You can drive to overlooks or hike. The road through the park on a mountain ridge would be great bicycling, if you know what you're doing.

Nice quite park. Definitely good for hikers and people who enjoy nature. Not a lot here for small kids. Would be nice if it had a nice playground in the area but we had no luck at finding one.
