We went to Stone Mountain in July. Went to the laser light show on a Saturday night, then took the tram to the top of Stone Mountain on Sunday morning before leaving. We almost didn't do it after experiencing the crowds Saturday night. But we were all glad we did. The tram ride up the mountain was quick. You ride... more

Stone Mountain is a giant carving (ala Mt. Rushmore) of the Confederare Leaders Jefferson Davis, Stonewall Jackson, and Robert E. Lee. It's impressive. You pay $8 to park in the park and you can just walk to the foot of the mountain. We parked near the 1 mile trail that leads to the top of the mountain. Lots of sweaty... more
