On our visit to Warm Springs we drove up to the park to see the new statue of Preside FDR. It is the only statue of him showing his leg braces. He is sitting on the car seat looking over the valley below Dowell's Knob where he was two days prior his death on April 12, 1947. Another great tribute... More

FDR state park is a great place to get away from every day pressure of city life and a great place to take a walk in nature

Cabins are nice and clean... Very well maintained. All grounds are also maintained in excellent condition. All staff were very friendly and helpful.. Although we did not stay in the camp grounds... They looked very clean and again well maintained.

It is probably exactly how it has always looked, they take such awesome care of the park no litter, no debris, though caution you may need a parking permit to park alongside the road, there are places to pull off and enjoy the scenery, and Calaway Gardens are right down the road.

Roosevelt State Park is average in terms of its campground. The view of the lake is nice (if you are in the loops that can see it). Overall campground is tight to move around in. We camp in a larger pull behind and had a difficult time maneuvering to our site. The entrance is marked, but we (of course) missed... More

We stayed here the last week in April 2011 for Spring Break in Cottage #6. We built camp fires each night, made s'mores, walked trails and saw various parts of the park such as Dowdell's Knob. It was too early for the pool to be open. The cottage we stayed in was built by the CCC. It had a fireplace,... More

I've taken my family camping every summer for the past 10 years. 95% of the time, always at a State Park(Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia) We were pleasantly surprised to find the type of mountainous terrain this far south in Georgia (enjoyed a moderate hike, very nice!!). The campsites were well maintained. The shower and restroom facilities in the B... More
