Cannot beat the scenery!!! Bike trail where old railroad use to be, high in the mountains. Pass thru several tunnels, but the most challenging is the very first tunnel which is 2 miles long. You don't know how dark it could possibly be until you are in it!! Headlamps are required.

Beautiful trail, wildlife, water, trees. 73 gorgeous miles (well about 15 go through the superfund site) but the rest is lovely and it ends near Wallace which is a great town to visit. The trail is a paved rail-trail so even though it goes steadily up it is not terribly difficult even for a 68 year old woman.

The very best road bike trail in north America. We ride about 150 miles a week. This is our favorite ride. Beautiful scenery, stunning wildlife, perfect day. I suggest you plan you ride where you can stop and have a little picnic in Harrison. The grocery store had a great little deli, fresh made to order sandwiches, nice tables in... More

First, a qualifier: the upper end of this 70-mile-plus trail is merely nice. The lower end, along the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene and up the lower part of the river, is incredible. I've ridden nice bike routes around the world, and this ranks with the best. Stunning, especially in August. Great riding surface. Mostly level. Lots of wildlife. Plenty... More

It has a nice campground but the biggest attraction is the biking on the trail. Gorgeous place to bike and is pretty easy when you have children along.

It was my first time experiencing the Trail and I only rode on part of it, but what an amazing trail system! We rode from the Harrison Idaho trail head and turned around about 4 miles outside of Plummer Idaho. The ride was 22 miles total and the weather could not have been better. The breeze coming off of the... More

This is the beginning place of the trail of the cour de laines a 72 mile paved railroad grade bike path that ends in Mullen near the Montana state line. There is little to no interface with automobiles the entire way and the lake and river are ever present and full of birdlife. I would suggest riding the 60 miles... More
