Cold and Dark but well worth seeing. Might seem warm up top but bring a jacket because it gets really cold down below.

It costs a little bit to get in, but not much. The caves are really incredible. On a hot day, these things don't get above 30 degrees. The floor is filled with water frozen solid. Old Westerners used to come to the caves to cut ice out for keeping things cool in the summer. It's a very ethereal place and... More

Well, as long as you know you are in Idaho, you will love it. As explained better by other Trip Advisor folks, this is a kitschy, unique place. It is a dirty, cheap, tourist trap that is worth join to. In fact, if you are passing by, I would not miss it. I have been there twice and enjoyed both times.... More

If you like road side, historical attractions you'd enjoy this. Neat facts, informative tour guides, and in the summer it will get you down in 30 degree caves for a nice cool off. We were on our way to Sun Valley and it was a nice stop along the way.

You probably have to like kitschy roadside attractions to enjoy this place. We knew what we were getting into, so we enjoyed the experience. This certainly isn't a polished professionally run place, but it has a charm all its own. We had to wait about 45 minutes for the guide to return from the tour he was on when we... More

My husband and I stopped here on the way to the Sawtooth Mountains. This was an interesting roadside attraction complete with brightly painted kitschy statues, a gift shop, and some antiques for sale near the parking lot. You pay for the tour in the gift shop and wait about fifteen minutes until there are enough visitors to go on the... More

September 2009. Back in 2008 we drove past the Shoshone Indian Ice Caves as we headed up to Sun Valley, ID. Pronunced Show shown for the Native American tribe. Returning to Sun Valley area this year, we decided to take a slight diversion on our way to the Craters of the Moon National Monument in Arco, ID about 45 plus... More
