The exhibits are extremely education and well thought out. You could easily kill a day or more there, and still find new things, from dinosaurs to a recreated Egyptian tomb. more

This exhibit was a lot of reading. You pay an extra fee to see it and it is 90% posters which you have to read. I wouldn't recommend taking children because there is nothing "cool" for them to look at. more

We enjoyed all of the permanent exhibitions as well as the temporary ones. The museum has a lot to offer and you could easily spend all day there. I would recommend doing the free highlight tours the docents do. The docents will take you around certain areas of the museum and share information about exhibits and artifacts that you may... more

We visited this museum primarily for the "Real Pirate" temp. exhibition, this was VERY good and we enjoyed it very much. The pirate exhibition told a very interesting story very lively. They also had many original pieces on display, including the ONLY treasure ever found. It was the highlight of our experience at the museum. We paid $8 extra to... more

This museum has some interesting exhibits, but it is not worth the price you pay. Most of the museum is stuffed animals. I would rather visit a zoo and see live ones instead of those killed in the wild and stuffed. Of course, this practice has long been discontinued here, fortunately. The museum was started in 1893 and the current... more

We went primarily for the Egyptian exhibition, this was very good. They have partly reconstructed a old tomb, this was a interesting to go through. We also saw the "Real pirates" temporary exhibition and " Ancient Americas". We enjoyed both very much. The pirate exhibition told a catching story very lively. I would think that this exhibit is good for... more

Do not sleep in! I arrived shortly after opening and experienced a relatively quick entrance. Approximately 1 1/2 hours later the lines were VERY long. My primary interest was in the Egyptian exhibit and it was quite good. I do however wish that school age children would be better prepared for their experiences at the Field. Since there are quite... more

We took our 2 year old and 6 year old to the Field Museum. We parked down on Adams in a parking garage and walked through Grant Park on the way to the Museum. Here is my review of the exhibits we paid to see. Water - NOT worth it for kids. There is nothing in there for them to... more

I visited the Field with my 13 year old son. We had a nice time and actually saw all three floors in only a few hours. The exhibits were very interesting. Suprisingly, we enjoyed the huge selection of preserved animals the most. They have a specimen of almost every animal created! We didn't dawdle but kept moving and kept it... more
