The FIeld Museum has very good permanent exhibits, especially for children, but I especially like the traveling exhibits. They are always interesting and of the highest quality.

This is an overwhelming facility--more to take in than a visitor can absorb in a day. So, get the map with area info and plan what You want to see. There were several areas that we thought were especially well done. The area with cutting edge inventors and their inventions was fascinating--this is a can't miss exhibit!!!! We also greatly... This exhibit is worth the visit. The exhibit explain why he became known as the "people's scientist." His life, a journey from slavery to science, from obscurity to legend, was a series of challenges—physical, financial, social, and racial. Visitors will come to know the curiosity, the persistence, and the passion for education that carried Carver such great distances. This exhibit... More

This was the place I headed for when I was in Chicago, It featured the two Lions that were the bases for the film about the man eating lions in Africa that terriozed all the workers who were building a railroad. These are male lions who had no Mane and lived together in a cave. But that is only part... More

Huge props to the museum--to see so many kids and families there so excited about science was amazing. Well done! My only complaint is that we only... More

Great natural history museum. A must-see Chicago attraction. As a minimum, plan on a 2 - 4 hour visit. You'll enjoy every minute.

It is a huge museum to just wander in. Make sure to plan enough time to enjoy everything. We got in with the city pass which saved a lot of money.

This place is simply amazing. EVERYONE should see the evolving planet exhibit! I have never seen evolution and earth's history explained in such a clear and beautiful way. Sue was also incredible to see. The Sue movie was pretty good, it gives a lot of background info about Sue and why she was such an amazing discovery, Sue inspires awe... More
