The Chicago Architectural Foundation riverboat tour is an excellent one. There are many river tours but this one is led by docents who have been schooled on the many buildings along the river and pass on this information in a most interesting manner. We were recommended to take the river cruise by friends in Chicago. We were not disappointed - the skyline is amazing but meant so much more after we began to understand the different architectural styles. The guide was excellent, sharing her knowledge freely and with an open, friendly style. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone remotely interested in architecture. more

We took the CAF Chicago River boat tour in early June. It was an excellent way to see all of the great buildings of Chicago. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Unless you're an architecture buff, it might be TMI. If so, you can tune it out and just enjoy the view. more
