...unfortunately I'm not a woman. Not much for men or kids to look at, but the street entertainment was interesting at least.
The Magnificent Mile cannot be avoided when in downtown Chicago, but why would anyone want to? Nearly every top-end store known to man and imports like TopShop and AllSaints is on this path. If not, Neiman Marcus and Saks are there to take up the slack for your brand of choice. Multi-level malls galore if indoor shopping is your thing....

A must see!!! Wear comfortable shoes... You might have a hard time finding afforable ones once you get there!

Very nice stretch of shopping and dining. You can expect all your big box stores, along with the specialty stores like Rolex and Gucci. All within in a reasonable amount of walking. Listen, if you love shopping or even just people watching this is the area....The best stores around....Make sure you go in the old Water Tower to see the huge pipes that draw water in from the lake...So Cool!! The mag mail is cool in summer or winter with all the holiday lights....A Must see for out of town friends.
It's enough just to walk through this area. So many beautiful buildings!
Thankfully our grson was along and big-time shopping was a passing fancy.
But if your lady can afford Gucci and Prada and Nordstroms,dip into your
retirement or remember 'you can't take it with you'-if it is solace to you.
Of course I am writing as a retired physician with comfortable living. The Mile
is beautiful at nite from 30 stories...
