Lao Hunan is one of several restaurants in Chinatown and the western suburbs owned and operated by Tony Hu. Hu makes an effort to reflect in his restaurants the cuisines of Chinese regions like Szechuan, Yuanan... and Hunan. Hunanese cuisine is very hot, but the heat is not such that the flavors do not shine through, and a lot of... More

Something different to do if you are in town and want to experience a glimpse of a different culture. Wasn't much to do this time of year except shop, eat, and look around. Didn't find any bargains. Was hoping to find some unique imports in addition to the typical souvenirs. Would be good to plan looking around, shopping a bit... More

Great restaurants, cool little shops. Our kids, 15 & 16 love CT for the tea they can find. Very nice center square with Chinese zodiac? animal symbols and descriptions. We check for new restaurant reviews before we go and try to visit a new one on each trip. Many nice Dim Sum places.

We love to come here every time we can. We went on a diet about 3 years ago, and I lost 100 pounds, and the one thing I cheat with is here. There are many different places to choose from. Be aware the are very small and there is not TV.

It's kind of cool but certainly there are better Chinatowns in the country. There are plenty of restaurants and little shops but not much else.

There isn't much to Chinatown in Chicago, period! None of the restaurants are ever rated as good, there isn't really anywhere to walk around and, frankly, it isn't that safe of an area to go to.

It's not San Francisco's or New York's, and not as large so don't expect it to be like the Chinatown of other cities.

there are a ton of places to eat, from nice restaurants to little take out places, and most of them are very authentic, so keep that in mind if youre used to eating "americanized" chinese food haha. there are a ton of little gift shops and you can usually find some neat, unique stuff for a good price. there are...
