Hyde Park is one of my favorite places to relax in Chicago. It's a good place to sit on a bench, read a book and escape from the hectic city life.
The food was delicious! Atmosphere is quaint cozy and fun! It was the perfect location for a date night followed by a late night stroll on the beach of Lake Michigan only blocks away.
Hyde park has historic houses, the University of Chicago, and The University of Chicago Medical Center - Rockafeller Chapel - but go during the day as the neighborhood isn't the best, but getting better. Diversity capital. We communicate with each other. The homes, condo and co-operatives speak to you. Every building has a story to tell. You can walk, drive or bike ride to check out the area. You will love it.
Sure the University of Chicago is an idyllic campus. However, there;s really not much to do. A scattering of restaurants that close at 9pm. Raccoons in the street. Terrible parking. There's really nothing to do but jump on a metra and go to better neighborhoods.
