I have seen several productions here. It is up close and personal and ALWAYS very well done. My favorite theater in Chicago. Especially since they do shows based on historic events, people, times, etc. Don't think it means dry and boring, though. Anything but!

I've seen two plays here. The last was Enron, a fascinating interpretation of the financial scandal. The acting is always outstanding, productions are thought-provoking and you are never more than five rows from the stage. Well priced. Great restaurants nearby, too.

This is our second visit to TimeLine Theatre this season and we live 250 miles away! The productions are that good. (Thanks to Amtrak, for making it so easy to get into the heart of Chicago from the heart of Michigan). TimeLine Theatre Company offers entertaining, gutsy, intimate performances of topics taken from the fabric of historical events, and interwoven... More

Timeline focuses on historical themes. Their performances are never less than excellent, and the background they provide in the lobby enhance the experience. I have never come away disappointed, and often walk out exhilarated.

We go to the theater 15 to 20 times a year, and have been doing so for more than 20 years. We've seen plays at all the major Chicago companies and many of the smaller ones. We see two or three plays in London almost every year. For consistently good work, no one beats Timeline. Their theme is embedded on... More

Timeline plays are substantial, thoughtful and well-produced and directed. The sets are imaginative. We have enjoyed every performance we seen there.

Chicago has numerous small theater companies. This one has a longstanding track record of excellent productions and has attained national recognition. The productions all relate to nonfiction history such as Nixon, History Boys, Enron, Man for all Seasons, etc.. As the theater is small, in-the round, advance reservations through their website is a must.

An outstanding theater whose range is bigger than their budgets. The husband had seen one show on B-way, hated it. When he saw it here--he was blown away, which goes to prove it is what is done, not how much it cost. If it is too hot, or too snowy in Chicago...take yourself for a treat to any one of... More
