If you are a history buff then this is something you definitely don't want to miss. Many of the famous people who built Chicago and made it the great city that it is today are buried here. Even though you might think it creepy to visit a cemetery this one is an exception. In addition to the great history the... More

Visting a cemetary may sound creepy but this one is a wonderful park setting and tribute to the who's who of Chicago - Sullivan, Pullman, Burnham etc. Great guide map can be obtained at the visitor center.

Amazing sculpture. A wonderful place to spend a quiet afternoon and visit the early movers and shakers of Chicago

Walking through this cemetary on a tour is scary when you realize the history behind some of these graves. It could have been my imagination, but it felt like eyes were watching you. Creep City!

Only go to see something/someone specific. It's just north of Wrigleyville, so maybe consider going when you are going to Wrigley Field/Wrigley bars.

If you like cemeteries, Chicago, and history...this is the place. A "Who's Who" of early Chicago. Some of the magnificent monuments in the city. Don't miss Burnham's small island. I could have spent more than a few days roaming around here.

This is probably the most visited of Chicago's historic cemeteries due to its convenient location near Wrigley field and its well known momuments. Higlhlights - and there are many - include the famous "Statue of Death" by Lorado Taft, Louis Sullivan's Getty mausoleum as well as his own tomb, the tombs of Chicago planner Daniel Burnham and his family on...
